Characteristics

Stoloniferous perennial herb, stems clumped, up to c. 300 m tall, c. 2 mm in diam., erect or ascending, rodlike, simple or very sparingly branched at base, pubescent, hairs up to c. 0.3-0.5 mm long, recurved, closely leafy. Leaves fascicled, alternate, primary leaves c. 4-6.5 x 0.5-0.8 mm (ratio length: breadth 7-8.5:1), lanceolate, apex subacute, base scarcely narrowed, margins entire, plane, venation invisible, glandular-punctate, hairy all over as well, hairs c. 0.1-0.25 mm long. Inflorescence a compact terminal leafy corymb c. 30-60 mm in diam. Bract adnate to pedicel and calyx tube, lowermost 2-2.25 x 0.9-1 mm, blade elliptic, obtuse, deeply concave, embracing calyx, strongly keeled and with pale membranous margins, hairs c. 0.1-0.2 mm long on margins and keel. Pedicel up to 0.2 mm long. Calyx 1.4-1.5 mm long, campanulate, subequally 5-lobed, lobes 4-5 mm long [0.4-0.5 surely], obtuse to subacute, pubescent on margins and all over outside, hairs c. |0.2-0.3 mm long on margins, shorter elsewhere. Corolla tube 1.3-1.4 mm long, broadly funnel-shaped, limb 3-3.2 mm across lateral lobes, posticous lobes 1-1.2 x 0.6-0.7 mm, anticous lobe 1.4-2 x 0.7-0.8 mm, all lobes oblong, white. Stamens: posticous filaments 1.2-1.4 mm long, anticous filaments 1.5-1.8 mm, all anthers well exerted. Stigma and style 1.7-2.7 mm long, style glabrous. Ovary c. 0.5 x 0.4 mm. Cocci c. 1.25 x 0.7 mm, brown, smooth.
