Dwarf shrublet c. 150-200 mm tall, stems tufted from crown of stout woody taproot, sparingly virgately branched, branches erect or suberect, puberulous, hairs up to c. 0.1 mm long, strongly recurved, leafy. Leaves opposite, sometimes becoming subopposite or alternate on upper part of stem, fascicled, largest primary leaves 7-13 x 1.25-2 mm, narrowly elliptic, apex acute or subacute, shortly apiculate, base narrowed then slightly expanded, sometimes connate when leaves opposite, margins entire, strongly revolute (thickened), texture moderately thick, midrib slightly raised on lower surface, glandular-punctate otherwise glabrous except for few hairs to 0.1 mm long on margins at base; axillary leaves similar but smaller. Inflorescence a. moderately crowded spike c. 15-35 x 10 mm in flower, scarcely elongating in fruit, lowermost flowers distant, solitary or nearly so at tips of branches. Bract adnate to calyx tube, lowermost 5-8 xl.7-2.2 mm, lanceolate, acute, base somewhat pouched, hairs 0.15-0.2 mm long on lower margins, otherwise glabrous. Pedicels wanting. Calyx 3-3.2 mm long, campanulate, deeply 3-lobed, anticolateral lobes broadly deltoid, not infrequently bifid, hairs 0.2-0.3 mm long on margins, few 0.1-0.15 mm long on keels or posticous keel only, scattered globular glands as well. Corolla tube 4-5.5 mm long, funnel-shaped, limb 4-6 mm across lateral lobes, posticous lobes 1.6-2.5 x 1-1.5 mm, anticous lobe 2.2-3.8 x 1.2-1.8 mm, all lobes elliptic, white. Stamens: posticous filaments 3-3.2 mm long, anticous filaments 3.2-3.5 mm, all anthers far exerted. Ovary c. 1 x 0.8 mm. Cocci 2.7-3.2 x 1.8-2.1 mm, dark red-brown, slightly rugulose, inner face plane.
